Feature Friday #2

Hey Book Nerds! I haven’t done one of these posts in FOREVER. But, it’s Friday and I wanted to post again so why not? I love being able to recommend some of my favorite novels to all of you. And, I tend to read a few under-hyped books every so often so these are a perfect way to showcase some of my favorites! So, let’s dive right in!

  • Synopsis:

Image result for sweet evilWhat if there were teens whose lives literally depended on being bad influences? This is the reality for sons and daughters of fallen angels. Tenderhearted Southern girl Anna Whitt was born with the sixth sense to see and feel emotions of other people. She’s aware of a struggle within herself, an inexplicable pull toward danger, but Anna, the ultimate good girl, has always had the advantage of her angel side to balance the darkness within. It isn’t until she turns sixteen and meets the alluring Kaidan Rowe that she discovers her terrifying heritage and her willpower is put to the test. He’s the boy your daddy warned you about. If only someone had warned Anna. Forced to face her destiny, will Anna embrace her halo or her horns?

  • Why I Recommend This?
    • This book follows Anna Whitt as she discovers her true identity and follows her destiny. And holy, that may not sound too good, but it is a MUST-READ!! Anna Whitt and Kaidan Rowe are such relatable and lovable characters. They reminded me a lot of Daemon and Katy from the Lux series.
    • This book has been raved by quite a few popular bloggers and booktubers and bookstagrammers. It’s not that popular of a read so I think that says A LOT!
    • It features Nephilim and a lot of things about the seven deadly sins. Each Nephilim has a father who is a duke of one of the deadly sins. Anna’s for instance is the “Duke Of Substance Abuse”. It’s super interesting to read as the Nephilim follow in their father’s footsteps!
    • Ummm, if it isn’t obvious, this book cover is drop-dead gorgeous! I absolutely love how Anna’s dress makes a huge statement on the cover with its bright colour. I also really love how the background of the cover features the good and evil of Anna’s destiny!

If those few things didn’t convince you to read this book, I don’t know what would?!? If you still aren’t interested, I highly suggest you give it a try anyways. I hope you enjoyed this post. Don’t forget to like, comment and follow!

Happy Reading!

Feature Friday #1

Hey everyone! I am so excited to finally introduce to you, Feature Friday. These posts will feature some of my favorite books of all time. I will be giving you all a little sneak peek into the book and also recommending it to you all. I’ve been wanting to do recommendations for awhile now but I’ve never wanted to make a whole recommendations post. So, I settled with a weekly non-spoilery review type of post. I hope you all like this idea as much as I do.

Now, if you’ve been following my blog for awhile, you could probably guess what the first recommendation will be but, if you haven’t been here that long, the first book is….

Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout!

obsidianThis book follows Katy Swartz just after she moves from Florida to a small, unincorporated town near West Virginia’s Seneca Mountains. She never wanted to make the big move but finally agreed after she saw how much her mother was struggling with the loss of Katy’s father. And wow it was such a good decision for them to make the move! They ended up moving into a house right beside Daemon Black and his sister. They are stunning aliens who are hiding from their enemies. Katy befriends Dee but has quite the odd connection with Daemon. She likes him but also dislikes him at the same time. Unsure thoughts can sometimes end in love right? Katy and Daemon’s story is a must read for all readers! (well non-readers too but readers will enjoy it more)

You will definitely fall head over heels for Daemon Black. He is basically the definition of swoon-worthy fictional characters. The green eyed, tousled obsidian hair alien is one that you definitely won’t want to miss reading about.

This book is a book that lots of book bloggers can relate to. It’s not the rarest thing but, it is pretty rare to find a character that  LOVES to read in a paranormal/science fiction book. It is even rarer to find a book blogger in a paranormal book. But here you do! This book has inspired many avid readers to blog (like Katy) about their love for books (me included). So, I definitely recommend that you pick up this book just because, or even if you’re interested in blogging.

That’s all I have for today! I can’t wait to write up next week’s Feature Friday but until next time, happy reading! ~Alaina
